How to choose the right size of pillow cover and insert, plus the sizes we offer for quilts, napkins and table runners. All measurements are in inches.
Pillow cover sizes we offer
Most of our pillow covers come in the sizes below. The exact sizes for each design are listed on its product page.
- Square: 12 × 12, 14 × 14, 16 × 16, 18 × 18, 20 × 20, 22 × 22, 24 × 24 and 26 × 26
- Lumbar: 12 × 16, 12 × 20, 14 × 20, 14 × 24, 12 × 26 and 14 × 26
- Long lumbar and bench: 12 × 36, 14 × 36 and 16 × 42
How to choose a size
- Standard sofas: 18 × 18 and 20 × 20 are the most common choices.
- Deep sofas, sectionals and beds: 22 × 22 to 26 × 26 work well at the back, with smaller squares or a lumbar in front.
- Accent chairs and reading corners: a 12 × 20 or 14 × 20 lumbar, or a 16 × 16 square.
- Beds and benches: a long lumbar such as 12 × 36, 14 × 36 or 16 × 42 runs across the width of a bed or bench.
When layering, start with the largest size at the back and work forward to smaller sizes. Mixing a solid linen cover with a block print is an easy way to balance pattern and plain colour.
Choosing an insert
Our covers are sold without inserts. For a full, plump look, choose an insert one size larger than the cover:
- 18 × 18 cover: 20 × 20 insert
- 20 × 20 cover: 22 × 22 insert
- 22 × 22 cover: 24 × 24 insert
- 12 × 20 cover: 14 × 22 insert
For a softer, more relaxed look, use an insert the same size as the cover. Down or feather inserts compress more easily than polyester ones, so they suit sizing up.

- Twin: 60 × 90
- Queen: 90 × 108
- King: 108 × 108

Napkins
Our napkins range from 8 × 8 to 20 × 20. As a guide, 20 × 20 suits a formal dinner setting, 16 × 16 or 18 × 18 is easy for everyday meals, and smaller sizes suit cocktail and dessert service.
Table runners
Our table runners come in widths of 14 and 16 inches and lengths from 60 to 108 inches. A common rule is to choose a runner about 12 inches longer than your table, so it hangs roughly 6 inches over each end. For a runner that sits within the tabletop, choose one shorter than the table.
